Mid Fade

A fade that starts halfway up — sharper than a taper, easier than a skin fade.

The fade begins around the temples and blends up into the top. It slims the sides of the head, so a round face looks longer, and it is excellent on curly and coily hair where the contrast with a fuller top looks deliberate.

General guidance from stylists, not a measurement of your face — hair density, hairline and personal taste all matter too.

Tell your stylist

  1. Fade starts at mid-head, around the temple line
  2. Blend from skin or a No. 0.5 up to the top length
  3. Top 3–6 cm — say how you style it
  4. Line up the hairline and neck
